While Enigma sells abstraction as the solution, the robotics sector is confronting what the piece calls 'the bitter lesson': scaling compute and data alone may not overcome fundamental architectural constraints. If Enigma ships a public benchmark showing sustained task completion (beyond single-session demos) on a standardized robotics suite within 12 months, and if that benchmark includes failure-mode transparency (not just success rates), the abstraction thesis holds water. Otherwise, watch whether Index Ventures or Ribbit deploy follow-on capital into interpretability or safety tooling for embodied AI within the next 18 months, which would signal they've recognized the control problem isn't just UX.
