Modelwire is built around a simple idea: you should be able to read about AI without giving up much about yourself.

Who we are

Modelwire (“Modelwire”, “we”, “our”) is operated by Zacaria Solis, based in Denver, Colorado, United States. You can reach us at privacy@themodelwire.com.

What we collect automatically

Server logs. When you visit Modelwire, our hosting providers (Vercel for the website, AWS for the API) automatically log technical details such as your IP address, browser user-agent, timestamp, the page requested, and the referrer. These are kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Privacy-preserving analytics. We use a self-hosted analytics tool (Plausible Analytics) that does not set cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not collect personal data. Aggregate metrics include page views, referrers, and country (derived from IP and immediately discarded).

What we collect when you opt in

Newsletter subscribers. If you subscribe to the Modelwire newsletter, we collect your email address (and optionally your first name). Email is stored by our newsletter provider (Beehiiv). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Contact form / email. If you email us, we keep that email so we can reply and refer back to it.

Cookies & advertising

Modelwire serves display advertising to support the site. We use the following ad providers, which may set their own cookies and process data about you to personalize ads:

Google AdSense / Google Ad Manager
Ezoic (rotational, depending on inventory)
Direct sponsors (no tracking; see each sponsor card for any links)

On your first visit we show a consent banner that lets you accept, reject, or customize ad-personalization cookies. You can change your choice any time by clicking “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Required cookies (e.g. for the consent banner itself) are not controllable.

How we use information

To run, secure, and improve Modelwire.
To send you the newsletter you subscribed to.
To respond to your messages.
To serve relevant advertising and measure its performance (only when you’ve consented to ad-personalization).
To comply with legal obligations.

How we don’t use information

We don’t sell your personal data.
We don’t use your data to train AI models.
We don’t share newsletter lists with third parties.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Colorado CPA, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights email privacy@themodelwire.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Server logs: 30 days.
Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
Email correspondence: while it’s relevant, then archived.

Children

Modelwire is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your data we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers.
